Upcoming 7-Seater Cars in India
The last two years have been very challenging for the automobile industry. But, this year has turned out to be slightly better. However, the Indian automakers are preparing to launch a few new models in the future so that they can expand their customer base and keep their sales figures high. The Indian market is witnessing a significant rise in the supply of seven-seater cars.
Maruti Suzuki has launched MPV, XL6, and Ertiga. They have received excellent responses from the buyers. On the other hand, competitors like Toyota, Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, and Toyota Fortuner are also having good sales in the market.
With its new car, even Hyundai has entered the 7-seater SUV category. This 7-seater car has been growing in popularity and with the ongoing pandemic, manufacturers are looking forward to introducing a few more models in the country in the coming months and years. Let’s have a look at some of the upcoming 7-seater cars in India.
Hyundai Stargazer:
Hyundai is going to launch a new 7-seater MPV in the market in the year 20221. Although, they have yet not made any official statement on the same. Currently, Hyundai is testing 7-Seater MPV in Korea as well as in Indonesia.
Some Rumour mills have suggested that the new 7-seater cars will be based on Creta’s platform. And, it is rumored that Hyundai Stargazer is going to be manufactured at Hyundai’s Chennai-based plant and then it will be exported to Indonesia and other South Asian markets.
According to the reports, the new Hyundai Stargazer will be offered with 1.5 liters of petrol and diesel engine options with both automatic and manual gearbox options.
Whereas, the former is good for 113 bhp and 145 Nm of torque, while the turbo-diesel engine produces 113 bhp and 250 Nm of torque.
KIA KY 7-Seater
Kia India has announced its plans to introduce a new 7-seater family car in the upcoming year. This new model is rumored to be based on the modified Creta’s platform and also underpins the Hyundai Alcazar.
This particular model rides on a 2750 mm long wheelbase that is 150 mm longer than Creta’s wheelbase. Kia KY is expected to measure around 4.5 meters in length along with other cars in this segment.It is likely to share the engine options with Hyundai Alcazar that include a 159 PS, and 2.0 L NA petrol, and 113 BHP. 1.5 L turbo-diesel.
JEEP Meridian
It is an American SUV maker that is expected to launch a 7-seater SUV based on the Compass platform in India in the year 2022. The new SUV is called Jeep Meridian in the automobile market that is expected to compete with Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq, Ford Endeavour, and the VW Tiguan AllSpace.
This particular model sits on a 2794 mm long wheelbase that is around 158 mm longer than any 5 -seater Compass. Talking about the dimensions, Jeep meridian measures 4769mm in length, 1859 mm in width, and 1682 mm in height making this car 364mm longer, 41mm wider, and 43mm taller than the Compass.
They are most likely to offer 6-7 seat options where a six-seater will get captain seats in the second row, while on the other hand, the 7-seater will get bench-type seats. This Indian-spec car is expected to come with a twin-turbocharged version of a 2.0L diesel engine to produce around 200bhp and over 400Nm of torque.
Haval F7
It is a newcomer in the Indian market, but the company is growing quickly in size and popularity. With its impressive range of cars under the belt, the Chinese manufacturer is quite ready to enter the 7-seater category with F7.
The F7 car is available with a couple of engine options that include a 1.5 L Turbo petrol and a 2.0L turbo petrol engine. This particular car is infixed with a 1.5 L of the engine that generates around 150 Ps of power and 280 Nm of torque whereas, the 2.0 L engine produces 190 Ps of power and 340 Nm of torque.
In terms of transmission, the F7 car is mated to a 7-speed DCT automatic system and can be had with a Front-wheel drive or a 4 wheel drive option. Whenever this car will get launched in India, it will probably come with a manual gearbox that will be mated to a country-specific diesel engine. There are many features that are available on this car-like, like a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, adjustable front seats, panoramic sunroof with adjustable front seats, electronic parking brakes, and faux leather upholstery.
When it is about safety, the F7 car is expected to come with a front collision alert system, a 360-degree parking camera, 6 airbags, and adaptive cruise control. The Haval F7 is expected to take on some big names like MG Hector, Hyundai Tucson, and many more.
Renault Triber
Renault Triber is currently available in four variants. It is a 7-seater vehicle that gets the under four-meter price advantage. You can find this car in five color options such as white, blue, silver, mustard, and brown. These colors will be available in the dual-tone format with a black roof and in the RXZ trims.
This car features the signature Renault grille and projector headlamps. Whereas, on the side, you will find black cladding and flared rear wheel arches. Here, the company claims its unique style bridges the gap between Kwid and Renault’s SUV offerings in India.
Renault Triber is powered by a 1.0litre three-cylinder petrol engine that generated 72 bhp and 95 Nm of torque. This car comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission and as well a five-speed AMT unit. The brand claims to provide a fuel efficiency of 19 Kmpl and 18 Kmpl in the car respectively. Get a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple car play/ Android auto, dual front glove boxes, and multiple storage spaces in it.
